It seems like it took forever for this book to be released. I wish I had the same patience as I had when I was writing it, but I didn't. I was waiting everyday until the publishing house closed, in hopes of getting an email with those magic words, "Congratulations, your novel has been published". I was frustrated, which turned into to anger. But then I got those magic words in an email the other day and it seems like I've been in marketing mode every since.
The Hangman Returns is a good novel that continues the Hangman's journey in the HMU. It picks up five years after The Hangman ended and brings back all of the series' favorite characters. The vampire slayer, Jericho Caine is back with his mystical sword, the Sword of Caine. The demon hunter, Father Tom Padilla returns with his intensity and moral nobility. The wizard and Grand Librarian, Alexander Marryweather returns to see what the war is all about. He get's a firsthand view of why the good guys need to win the war. The Bad Angel, BA, once again lends a hand to help humanity even though he is carrying a massive secret that could change the tone of the story. I even added a new character in Susan Taki, a Kung Fu expert with the ability to drain a demon's and vampire's essence. She's a badass with maybe a brewing love interest in the story.
The Hangman Returns represents Stage 4 of the HMU. Stage 5 has already started with the follow-up to The Grand Librarian: Life of an Immortal. It is finished and currently in the editing phase. It's called, The Grand Librarian: The Future Wizards. The cover is done and I will be showing it soon. And as usual, the creator of the character, Panhnha Tran is back to lend a hand. That will be followed by, The Death Brothers: A Supernatural Awakening. It will focus on the bond between Jericho Caine and Tom Padilla as they deal with the fallout from The Hangman Returns. I've really come to enjoy writing for all of these characters and hopefully my audiences will love them too.
